Five Favorite Etsy Stores- Fourth of July Outfits
I want to keep highlighting amazing makers in the US, and I feel like my Etsy links can get caught in the more mainstream shuffle. So starting a series to focus on the greatest stuff we have found.

To me, the "patriotic" clothes lots of smug Trumpers are wearing this season (starting with Memorial Day) are the perfect metaphor for their patriotism- loud,self-aggrandizing, and not actually serving America at all. That stuff is almost certainly made in China. Blech, it makes me frustrated, because I think pride in your country and celebrating are both positive things, but these empty gestures don't serve America at all- they support other country's businesses while creating more waste in ours. I think there is a better way.
I would never discourage theme dressing- I love a theme! But we are usually able to pull off outfits that can be reused on other days (because honestly, a shirt you can only wear one day a year is not helping the Earth. So we put our red and blue stuff together, and we find the kids Patriotic stuff at baby consignment stores, because nothing is more patriotic than not covering our beautiful country in garbage.
If you are looking for some red white and blue, why not support actual Americans and buy your 4th of July goods from Etsy? Here are a few of my favorite clothing items (no 'Merica or drinking puns, because those are so lame) to win you over:
MiensNotYours (Minnesota) sells some pretty fabulous baby shorts. These just crack me up.

Ulous (Los Angeles) sells patriotic headbands and accessories. Rather than buying a whole outfit, why not just get something little like this- a lot less waste, and you certainly still get the idea across.
CreateMoreSleepLess (Arizona) makes the best funny t-shirt I have seen. Better than any drinking pun for sure. They also have those.
Blackbird Supply (Virginia) has this gorgeous sparkler design that I think would work all summer. Because it kind of looks like a dandelion too. Doesn't this one just look happy?
LoveNotDivision (California) makes great and patriotic shirts, because I believe patriotism stands up and fights for what is best in our country.
MiensNotYours (Minnesota) sells some pretty fabulous baby shorts. These just crack me up.
