Five Favorite Etsy Stores- Reusable Sponges
I want to highlight amazing makers in the US, and Etsy links can get caught in the more mainstream shuffle. So starting a series to focus on the greatest stuff we have found.

We all use sponges for cleaning- many of them are solidly terrible for the environment, made of plastics with a relatively short life. I am always mad when I accidentally cut a sponge, because motherly advice says just throw it out. Blech! Instead, I want to start using reusable or "unsponges" which can be reused a long time and which are beloved by many who are zero-waste or eco-friendly. Here are some of the most loved ones on Etsy (and that says a lot, because loving a sponge seems hard to do)-
NatureJunkieMI (Michigan) will send you 2 new sponges every month for 3 or 6 months, until you have a whole supply. Once they are nasty, you can throw them in the wash and use them again. They have 370 5 star reviews.
fandcsewing (Illinois) makes reusable sponges and unpaper towels in adorable prints. Also well-loved- over a hundred perfect reviews.
TheGreenHaven (Maryland) also make sponges with fun creative prints and have over 600 perfect reviews. Hard to fight with that kind of feedback!
FleetMade (Ohio) makes sponges like these as well. .Same basic formula- terrycloth on one side and colorful fabric on the other.
GaranceCouture (New Mexico) makes great sponges too. I would love Frida staring at me while I do dishes, so I can feel like a real feminist failure being domestic (I kid).
