Best Big Little Days of my 20's- 20

by - Sunday, March 20, 2016

I am turning 30 in just a few weeks, so I am taking the opportunity to humor my nostalgia and reflect on my 20's. In general, I feel pretty good about them, and I don't feel particularly mournful or wistful about the whole thing. Maybe next week.

I keep reflecting on what days were the best in my 20's- I turned 21 in Athens, I got engaged on Machu Picchu, I wore a cardboard robot head on my wedding day. I became a mom. I had some really epically big big days. That's well and good, but those answers seem so obvious. My running theory is that the best day of my life is probably not those big days that stick out in my mind but those sneaky days that aren't quite so BIG, but still add up to something really special and important.

You can't travel to foreign lands or give birth everyday (thank goodness- those REALLY IMPORTANT days come with a lot of pressure, labor-related and otherwise), but a good adventure can still always be right around the corner. You just have to be ready to go have an adventure or treat a day with the meaning it deserves.

Anyway, enough waxing poetic, I really feel grateful for my 20's. With 10 days left in them, I figure I will just post a handful of pictures from each year, especially from those little and wonderful days.
