5 Things I Loved This Week

1. Lemony Snicket is Sticking up for Planned Parenthood-I love this. The world is not so bad.
2. The Pope's Visit- I feel like all the Kim Davis hoopla is overshadowing that his visit in general was lovely, positive, and powerful. I really loved so much of what he said and how hopeful many people seemed around it. It bugs me when people try to negate everything someone does because their views don't 100% align. That's crazypants! I absolutely and completely disagree with him on the topic of gay marriage, but I think he did a lot of good this visit, so I wish people would focus on the positive. Not to mention, I am sick of hearing about this lady. If you refuse to do your job, you should just cut ties with that post and move on to something else.

3. Our New Table! I know you've heard about it already, but I couldn't be more psyched. We have been discussing/ lusting over round expanding tables since we moved in, so getting one for free from Buy Nothing felt like the hugest break ever. We have to refinish it, but it's a beauitful table, and so far the whole project (the van rental and supplies to refinish) cost around a hundred bucks. Plus, we saved a piece of furniture (and a tree) from untimely ends. Join Buy Nothing! If you don't have one in your area, talk to a friend and start one! It's amazing how much community it builds and what you can share with others. Plus, you might get an awesome table!

4. Seattle Applefest- It still makes me sad every year to miss the festivities in our hometown, but I do love our own little tradition of making apple pancakes for our friends here. It also serves as an interesting measure for our growth every year to see who is coming and the time we have and how we have figured out hosting a little bit more. It's no Franklin, PA, but its not nothing either.

5. My Baby Making Eyes at Me- He never loves me more than when The Boy is rocking him to sleep for the night. Anything to help that crazy insomniac stay awake. Also, 10 months is the best age so far. It's like payoff for months of dead stares and talking to furnniture, because he is just so himself now. I like that he waves with both hands. I do not love the refusal to sleep, but if he is going to do it, I enjoy the flirt anyway. (Side note, after writing this, we have been taking turns for 3+ hours trying to get this kid to stay asleep in his crib. Oy)

6. Skagit Valley Bacon-  AMAZING. Best bacon ever? Maybe. I am starting to love the
