3 Things- Darcel, Andrew WK's Wisdom, and FELT

1. Darcel- Darcel Disappoints has been up and running since 2007, but it just became my favorite blog today. Watching a cyclops in a monocle joke about going to see art shouldn't make me so happy, and yet it does. I especially love his dour take on other people in museums, specifically the people who want a picture of the art, but never actually look at it (best example- Darcel's visit to the Mona Lisa). I can't relate to his frustrations from living in New York, but the blog is worth seeing just for the send ups of various famous artists. Just go look, it will make your day.
2. Andrew WK's advice column- I usually try not to namedrop anything I just read about on Jezebel that day, because I figure our readership overlaps (my husband and my dad, respectively), but his responses are so incredibly sweet and intelligent. Since I found out I am having a boy, I have been making these mental lists of men (Adam Horowitz giving his sexual violence speech at the VMA's, Chris Pratt braiding hair on an interview, etc) who are actually pretty great. I don't think I ever expected Andrew WK to be on that list, but this is how he responded to someone complaining about their father's conservative politics:

"Love your dad because he's your father, because he made you, because he thinks for himself, and most of all because he is a person. Have the strength to doubt and question what you believe as easily as you're so quick to doubt his beliefs. Live with a truly open mind -- the kind of open mind that even questions the idea of an open mind. Don't feel the need to always pick a side. And if you do pick a side, pick the side of love."

There is a whole bunch of this in his articles thus far. Read another truly sweet sentiment to a young girl struggling with a bad boyfriend here.

3. Etsy felt- I am ordering what I am sure will be a lifetime supply of felt. Time to kick some projects into high gear!
