The world today looked like a white canvas on a white wall in the best way. Robert Rauschenberg's White Paintings from 1951 have become absolute classics- they are the visual equivalent of John Cage's compositions of silence. By removing content from the painitng, the viewer grows aware of the shape of the material (I love the skinny panels), the lighting in the space, even their own shadows on the art. The snow everywhere mostly seems to make everyone aware of driving conditions and how cold it is. Not a perfect comparison, but I stand by it.
