3 Things for Thursday May 2nd- Supershuttle Hate, Wallflower Perks, and Airplane Food

by - Tuesday, May 14, 2013

Since I have been away from the internet most of the past week and a half, I wrote my 3 things for everyday down (on real paper!). I really like doing it everyday, because it gives me the chance to be grateful.Plus, I think it will be helpful in trying to remember what happened each day.

1. That Supershuttle always gives me new reasons to hate Supershuttle- You have to appreciate a company that can be consistent (consistently miserable) and have variety all at once. This time there was a bunch of bickering in Chinese about excess luggage and a seatmate with an epic phlegm problem. Supershuttle is in my top ten worst things in the universe list. I dream of the days we won't use one.

2. Crab cakes and avocado- they go shockingly well together. We were stuck in the Delta wing of SFO (which is the absolute worst), but we went to the ONLY restaurant, and I got crab cake sliders with avocado, and they were really good, considering all things. It may the only good thing in that half of Terminal 3!
3. The Perks of Being a Wallflower- It was a lot of angst. A LOT of angst. I can see why the book was popular with some of my friends in high school, and there were a lot of lovely things about the movie, not the least of which is Ezra Miller, who I really like. But the important thing here is that it is REALLY set in Pittsburgh. You recognize the tunnels and parks and views. AND it features King's, the best family restaurant of all time! Think how shisty it would have been if they used Eat 'n Park instead!
4. Airplane food- Alright, this is technically very fresh on my mind (or at least it was when I wrote this on Friday somewhere mid-air) because I just had some surprisingly yummy salmon with tomato curry coconut sauce. Yesterday, we scurried across the Minneapolis airport because we had a super short layover and no time for food. I was PUMPED that we did get food on the flight (I was sure we wouldn't), because I was starving an threatening to eat the food gifts we were bringing to my aunt and uncle. I was so hungry. And the food was mostly not disgusting! Double win!
