3 Things Yesterday- Shilo McCabe, "Post-Feminist" Lives in Art and Publishing, and Knit Success!

1. Shilo McCabe- I am writing for her exhibition at the Center for Sex and Culture in May, and last night I got to meet her and look at her work. Her photographs are beautiful and I really respect the stand she is taking around erotic photography. She was also really smart, well-spoken, and friendly, and we talked a lot about her son, who is just a little older than Petey. She is a very talented photographer, and I am excited for her show. You can look at her work here.
2. Deborah Copaken Kogan's article that was floating around yesterday- (you can find it here on the Nation) I didn't agree with everything she said, but she really sheds light on the some of the issues and overt sexism that professional women, even women as successful as her, face when they pursue careers in the arts. I like that she frames it as a battle, and that she is so open about the challenges she has personally faced.
3.Almost finishing my first scarf! If nothing else, this really will be the year I learn to knit. I will be super crafty in no time!
