March Fashion Inspiration

Yes, my inspiration is still Ginger.  I don't exactly understand what this dress is doing, as it seems to be a bib with a hole in it, but I like the makeup a lot!

Currently I am obsessed with mid-length skirts. I got myself a green one for my birthday, but it is a wrinkly mess from the trip and thus far I am way too lazy to iron it. Maybe I will get there soon.

I love the high waisted skirts, because they make everyone look leggy, though I think the danger in this is also looking short. Plus, if you twirl in one of these pleated skirts, it will look pretty fantastic/ Ginger-esque. Clearly, everyone spends a lot of March twirling.

But my favorite midi pleated skirt this month was Leslie Knope's, which was very pretty, weird, and sentimental. All around win on that one. And who's to say you couldn't rock a look like this every day? As long as it doesn't rain.

Lastly, I have become obsessed with urban safari type business, because if I have to look at actual practical safari clothing, clearly it is time to take a right turn and obsess over a pair of non-waterproof treadless shoes. But look how nice they look with jeans! At the very least, now I can obsess over jackets that I might actually use again and which cannot be turned into tents or cargo vests.

What worked so far in 2013-

Notice how I never keep my shoes on before I/ The Boy takes my picture. Still, I thought the 10 dollar dress and The Boy's sweater weirdly seemed meant for each other.

You have to appreciate the shoes, because one is red and one is orange. I feel like writing a blog on fashion makes it seem like I would be fashion-y, when actually I have no idea what I am doing and I can't even match my shoes!

My only 2 big buys for March were a maxi dress that looks weirdly plunge-y in this picture, but is actually pretty tent like and a pair of gold sparkly shoes that I wore to Las Vegas (because that is all the more I could commit to that aesthetic). If I thought it would be useful to anyone, I would take pictures of more outfits, but I think in general I am pretty run on the mill (plus, I would rather take pictures than be in them). But maybe it's useful to see the ideas start to be put into practice, mostly with old stuff I already own. Still, trying to figure out what actually I actually like/ works on me, rather than making no effort and just hoping it works out! It seems like that is one of those habits/ inactivities you should have kicked by your late 20's, and yet, I am figuring it out now! Wish me luck!
