More Star Wars Marathon Ideas

by - Wednesday, January 23, 2013

Ok, so this could get really out of control. I had no idea how many Star Wars-themed EVERYTHINGS there are in the world. There is a whole genre of Leia's pin-ups. More metal bikinis than the world ever needed. So the issue is figuring out what is worth doing and not getting too carried away.

Some of my favorite themed food:

Can I carve a watermelon? Right now, I am feeling optimistic, but maybe I will practice on the half cantelope that is in the fridge. I think The Boy would really find it funny.

Ok, what are the sith sticks? They look like dog treats. Also, clearly the cutesy signs make a huge difference. That might be the goal for next week- can I find a good enough font online??

Never have I wanted to eat red meat more than after I saw "Han Burgers" and their general cuteness! Jar Jar Links could turn a vegetarian too. I am trying to think if I can put them in a cute set up like my MIL did for Christmas.

Well, the Taters win at the very least, because I am sure I can do those, plus they are awesome. The Yoda is also awesome, but I think that one might take a try before the big event.

Ok, clearly none of these can happen, but somebody is a genius. Please get us a Disney princess with a lightsaber soon!

The fruit kabobs are happening. They fulfill the requirements of A. Being cute and B. not requiring any actual skill. The need for skills really keeps me from my calling of child birthday planner.

I bought a cake pan for this guy since we will be in Lent, so beloved chocolate (and Wookie cakes) will not be allowed. I think it will work, and we can have droid cakes for the rest of our lives, o that is a plus.

Also, some cool ideas for decorations:

Something with balloons, but starred balloons like the one on the right? The one on the left is pretty in the picture, but wouldn't you just get stuck all night? I think getting in and out of that table would actually be awful. Also, we don't live in a large industrialized loft, because we are not that cool.

And then there is all this stuff:

I think the lanterns could really look, so if anyone knows where to buy silver lanterns. This has taught me I could have reused more of my wedding stuff than I thought.  I got on the paper lantern site (luna bazaar) and instantly got out of control, so I am giving myself a night to work myself down to reason. Paper lanterns are not a birthday maker and breaker (plus, come on, you can't use the same tricks every time no matter how much you love those tricks).

And finally, I clearly need to buy him this dog:
