3 Things I Love Today- Candy Corn, Romney's Pin, and being a Bitch

by - Tuesday, October 23, 2012

1. Candy corn- Oh, how I love things that will rot my teeth. Candy corn has no nutritional value, but like many things that fit that description, it is pretty good for the soul.
2. Romney's pin- I am in no way being ironic about this. For both of the presidential debates I catched I could not figure out for the life of me if there was a sticker in his flag pin. It turns out it is a symbol for the secret service. I know this may be odd, but I find it endearing that men fighting for leadership positions are using jewelry to express themselves. I don't think it is supposed to be sweet, but the codedness of their outfits comes off that way.
3. Being a Bitch- I kind of oscillate between being hurt by this comment about me and kind of being cool with it. I think there is nothing wrong with saying what you think, as long as you can back it up and you aren't unkind about it. I really try very hard to be kind to people, but that doesn't mean that you have to agree with everything they say or that when you don't agree you should just shut up about it. I have been wondering if I am feeling feistier in general because I am not in classes right now, so I don't get the energy out elsewhere, but I think a lot of it is just feeling like I am an adult, and its alright to say what I think, as long as I am listening to the response too. I don't know, I think I bounce between a couple different theories about how girls should behave, but I am ok with landing somewhere that would make some people (namely, my own mother) think I'm a bitch.
