So tomorrow we are going home (YAY!!!) and as part of our Franklin tour this time, we are meeting with our caterers, JPC Events, who are also our cake baker and our florist. I think this time I will have to give them a much more definite sense of what I want for flowers. Mostly, I am not too fussy about this kind of thing, except that I want a lot of color. A TON of color. No white or super light flowers- all juicy and vibrant.

I know I want the flowers to be in all our colors from the peachy tangeriney oranges, persimmony reds, red reds, coral, and red-violets and plumy purples. It's a lot, but I think it looks gorgeous all together.

This is my absolute favorite bouquet- if my bouquet looked exactly like this (I love the orange roses) with a little less pink and more red, I would be a very happy girl.  If I had to pick just a couple inspiration photos for the whole thing, this would be one of them. I am obsessed with it.

They also want to know what kinds of flowers i want, which is tough because I don't really know the differences. I like things that aren't waxy- I have never gotten lillies, or other flowers like that. I really love dahlias, peonies, and roses. And stock. I love sunflowers too, and originally I dreamed of some way to work them in, but I just don't think they work here, so I am letting them go. I don't really want gerbera daisies because I associated them so much with Shelly's wedding. Other than that, I think I am out of opinions. I care a lot more about color than form.

We also have to come up with the flowers for the reception tables. Right now I am mostly feeling small or medium-sized arrangements that can easily be moved around as people need the space. I love the look of collections of not too matchy vases and arrangements, so every table is different.

Part of the question is what kind of containers we are using (also, do we buy these? I need to ask them that). The Boy hates mason jars, and thinks they are way too country for us, but I like the idea of having some somewhat casual vases because it fits with the nerd picnic thing.

The pail is kind of cute, and I like when they are low, because at least they are low and they don't block conversation. I also like the idea of keeping the vases very neutral since the flowers themselves have so much color.

I think these are my favorite so far- i love the painted cans, the use of clear vases, and the play with levels. This is one part where we will really have to wait and see what they tell us, but I think I can scrounge up some old vases and cans if I need to. The thoughts on flowers are pretty well put together I think, so now is just a question o what we like and what we can afford. At the least, I am excited a bunch more of the wedding stuff will get done this week!
