Wedding Wednesday- Flower Girliness

by - Wednesday, March 14, 2012

Alright, I am basically just using this as a half hour break before I dive back into my dissertation proposal, so not the most thoughtful stuff, but you can't win them all!

This week, to kill time I should spend on my dissertation proposal (as I am doing now) I have started looking at flower girl dresses. I thought it would be cute to do something in color, just to do something different, so of course I had to look at red polka dot dresses.

I like this one a lot. I think it would be nice to do something a little bit sassier, because Aubrey the flower girl is pretty much the sassiest girl ever (and I mean that in a totally good way). The Boy, shockingly enough, is looking for something a little more traditional.

This one was my favorite for a long time, though he thinks it has nothing to do with our wedding (it would if he'd let me use more red polka dot like I wanted! I just think this dress is sweet while still being different and a little more fun. I guess I wish the print was a little bit different, because I think it could fit a little bit better.

So now I guess I am looking at things that are more traditional. I figure he can't fight me on red polka dot shoes with something as low key as this. Though Aubrey is also making a big appearance at her own parents' wedding a few months earlier, and they are pretty much going with this strategy (white dress, fun shoes).

So this company- Olivia Kate Couture- is my current favorite- it is a little bit fussy and princessy, but I don't think it is over the top. I even think it is very cute and playful in white, which is good, because the boy says if I put her in something that puffy it definitely can't be color crazy. I don't know. This one really shouldn't be a huge deal, because the point of having kids in your wedding is that it is instant cuteness with very little extra effort, so I hope we can pull that off too. Mostly I would just like her to be comfy and look pretty cute.
