No Thanks, Ann Romney

Jezebel just posted this quote from Ann Romney about why women should vote for her husband-

"Women are talking about jobs, women are talking about deficit spending. Thank you, women. We need you. We all need you in November, too. We have to remember why we're upset and what we've got to do to fix things."

Uh, thanks but no thanks, super rich lady who has made her living being the super rich stay at home mom to a super rich guy's soon to be super rich sons. I have no problem with stay at home moms at all, but if you are in a family that can afford you, you probably have minimal anxieties about jobs. According to Ann Romney's husband and his very women-unfriendly party, we should all be barefoot and pregnant- not only is it what we should do, but apparently it is all we can do. I find it interesting that she as a woman feels that the only thing women might be concerned with right now is large scale economy, not the many real threats on their lives and bodies that the GOP have been brewing up.  I have a lot of respect for my conservative female friends, but it is hard to imagine how a woman could be all that supportive of the GOP right now. I mean, unless you also think all women should be stay at home moms, which is crazy, because even if it has worked for you, there is no reason to believe that it would work for everyone. They are right that they need women's votes, but that isn't the same thing as having actual respect for women, and I actually think that the quote is reflective of that lack (I mean, why are we upset again?), which is super scary.
