So, I have a dress now, but I am afraid it is too boring. It's not any of these dresses, but these are all pretty ones, so I thought I would put them here. I bought the dress under the duress of Priscilla of Boston's closing, where they are pretty much giving the dresses away. I am fine with it, but I am not in love with it (it feels kind of boring to me, though I do think its about the right idea). Rather than keep searching for another dress and going through the dramas of selling Dress #1 online (though Nick is convinced I could actually make money on it), I am thinking about ways to make it a little more interesting. I'm thinking some sort of strap.

I am also obsessed with cap sleeves, and I think I could almost make this work. The cap sleeves on this dress are really dramatic statement makers, and I am not sure I can pull this off, but something a little more simple might be interesting.

Also, they remind me of a good Ginger dress, and if you can channel some Ginger-style charm on your wedding day you are doing pretty well. The dress on the right seems right on in terms of what I am thinking.

We'll see. I don't feel settled on the whole thing yet, but I feel like I would like to be settled. I don't want to spend the rest of our engagement chasing some dream that just isn't going to happen. Also, it may be dangerously close to crossing into boring and not fun, so that isn't exactly a win either. You watch enough wedding shows, and you think you are going to come across a dress that makes you weep or deeply connect with your new position as super bride. I have yet to feel that sort of dramatic reveal. Rather than wait around, it seems like a more productive choice to make the best out of what I've got.
