5 Things I Love this Week

by - Tuesday, August 30, 2011

1. Random funny book titles- I got this off a website that my dad shared on his facebook, and now of course I can't remember what it was called. But it was pretty funny. When I figure it out, I will put it up here.

2.The Madonna Inn- We headed back to the absolute amazingness which is the Madonna Inn, which may be our new anniversary tradition. This year we were in the Oriental room, which was just as culturally confused as one would imagine based on the name. But it had a big shiny gold brick wall. And it had awesome light fixtures too. And they gave us a balloon for our anniversary, which came with a bottle of champagne and a card! How nice is that! Also, they have a super cool swimming pool that you walk into like it is a beach. If you ever plan a trip to California, I highly recommend the trip down the coast with a night over in this hotel.
3. The Center for Sex and Culture- they have an exhibition opening on Friday night that was curated by my friend Dorian and her partner Marlene, so if you are in San Francisco, and you like retro pornography posters and other goodies that could only be found in their archive, this is where you need to be.
4.Robyn's cd- I know I am way late on this, but it is all we've been playing in the house this week. Never has a song about dumping your girlfriend made me want to twirl around!
5. My telephoto lens- Not the best when you are taking big fancy landscape pictures, but I think it may actually be my favorite lens still. It's just the best. Also, Nick said on our trip that everyone has a big complicated camera now. That is probably true, but if you are becoming one of the fancy camera people, I highly recommend a Nikon. I have no complaints, and the color is so beautiful!
