Peru Food

This week Nick and I tried making a bunch of Peruvian food, riding off the high from buying our tickets. We tried three different things, and here is the verdict. (If you want a recipe, just ask).

Pork Chops and Peruvian Potatoes

The Pork chop was just a pork chop, but the potatoes were delicious. The sauce was like a feta cheese think with green onion and garlic and jalapeno. I would definitely eat this again. I would give it a 4.5. Nick said 4.

Salmon Kebobs with Rice and Grapefruit Salad

We were supposed to use Quinoa, but we couldn't find it at the grocery store (I found out later that there is a ton at Whole Foods, but we just aren't that fancy). The Zingyness was great, and I think we were surprised how well grapefruit went with the Salmon. My Score- 4 out of 5. Nick's - also 4.

Fish and Shrimp Ceviche

First, it should be noted that I made this all by myself. Also, I may as well be honest and say it gave us both tummy ache and we ended up eating McDonald's. Despite this seeming total failure, we both actually liked everything about it except for the fish. I think that we didn't pick a good enough fish AND I didn't cut it small enough for it to be fully done in the time we gave it. But, the corn, onion, cilantro, lemon, and shrimp were totally working together. So, weird un-faily fail. My score 1 with fish, 3.5 without. Nick's 1 with fish and 3 without. He also said to mention that he thinks it was the straight up acid that we ate around the fish that made us sick. He is a harsh judge
